Overview and Purpose

The whole purpose of classifications was because currently, ALL members of a nation that's at war can be killed, but not all the members want to be a part of a war.

So, with this classification, players must identify whether they want to fight or not. If they chose to fight, they must fight to the end. If they don't want to fight, they can remain peaceful and fight later if they choose to (with a fee).

This is similar to IRL with it being a war crime to kill civilians/Non-combatants and all.

Civilian/Non-Combatants

Civilians/Non-Combatants (NCs) are members of a nation (that's at war) that are not directly involved in the war.

  • These nation members cannot legally attack/interfere with enemy combatants (including luring traps, PvPing against an enemy, spying, stealing, sabotaging/griefing, interfering with active battles, etc.).

    • If a civilian/NC is found to be guilty of any of these acts, they will be considered an Active-Combatant (AC) and can be killed (war crime).

  • Civilians/NCs cannot legally be killed by enemy combatants (war crime).

  • Civilians/NCs CAN supply ACs with vigor, gear, and resources.

  • Civilians/NCs CAN defend themselves with force if they are purposely being attacked first (they will not be considered an AC).

  • Civilians/NCs who wish to be directly involved in the war must do the following:

    1. A public announcement of their decision of becoming an AC and DMing the leader of the opposing nation(s) regarding this decision.

    2. Pay a 5 vigor fee for switching into an AC.

    3. Wait 24 hours after their announcement to be able to participate.

Active Combatants

Active-Combatants (ACs) are members of a nation (that's at war) that ARE directly involved in the war.

  • These members can be killed by other ACs until they are Vigor banned twice or surrender.

  • ACs that are Vigor banned twice or surrender can no longer participate in the war in any form and will be considered as NCs.

  • Once a member of a nation becomes an AC, they cannot switch back into a Civilian/NC unless they are vigor banned twice or surrendered; which then they can no longer become an AC.

Classifications Prior to War

  • When a war is started, all members of the nations involved must publicly announce their decision to either be a Non-combatant or an Active-combatant.

  • Leaders and any Co-leaders (max 2 Co-leaders) must also be identified.

  • Leaders + Co-leaders of a nation cannot be considered Non-combatants.

Classifications During War

  • Leaders will only have 3 lives or can individually surrender; only then will they be considered Non-combatants.

  • If a Leader surrenders or is vigor-banned, a Co-leader can choose to succeed them and become the new leader of the nation.

  • Only the original Co-leader(s) (elected/declared before the war) can gain the throne of the nation.

  • After a war concludes, if the original leader of the nation was slain/surrendered, they cannot regain any position of power for 1 week (assuming their nation won the war or they keep their nation).

  • Only the current leader of the nation can surrender on behalf of the nation. This can be vetoed within 24 hours if the majority of Active-combatants and Non-combatants vote to continue to fight (only on surrenders). If the nation's Active-combatants successfully veto, then the current leader will be removed from power (due to individually surrendering). Any co-leaders that voted not to fight/did not vote during the veto will automatically be individually surrendered as well.

  • If all Leaders/Co-leaders individually surrendered after a veto, a new militia leader must be elected (assuming the majority of Active-combatants wish to continue fighting but the government doesn't). The nation will fall under enemy hands and all remaining Active-combatants will only have 3 lives left.
