The server supports crossplay between both Java and Bedrock Editions of Minecraft.
NOTE: Because Bedrock Edition updates frequently, at times, the server's crossplay support may not be up to date and needs to be manually updated by staff. If the server says to join using a previous version of Minecraft, this indicates the above. Contact a server administrator so that they can update it as soon as possible. Be patient with the staff team, we have lives too, and may be unavailable at the time of your request.
Players who join the server have the option to join an existing nation.
It is recommended to join a nation that reflects your playstyle by asking leaders of said nations what their goals are, what their interactions with the global community have been, etc.
You might not want to join a nation that goes to war a lot if you're a person who prefers building or peace, because you might get caught in affairs that are not favorable for you. You also may not want to join a nation that is neutral or relatively passive if you're a person who likes combat, because you'll find yourself bored.
You can find all existing nations and their claims in the claims map or list of nations channel.
Publicly declare which nation you are joining in the claiming/joining Discord channel and once a valid official from that nation approves your request to join, you are now a citizen.
Players who join the server also have the option to create their own nation instead of joining an existing nation.
Before claiming your country, be sure to check the claims map to see whether it has already been claimed or not. Sometimes the claims map is a few days outdated, so be sure also to check the claiming/joining channel in case it has not been updated to the most recent event.
Publicly declare in the Discord claiming/joining channel which country you are claiming. After claiming your country, your nation's name will be the same as the first country you claimed.
You are the leader/owner of your newly formed nation and now must travel to your land.
NOTE: You must publicly declare your decision to either join an existing nation or create your own in the Discord server before joining the server.
If you join the server prior to making a decision and continue to actively play, you will be banned from the server until you've publicly made your decision.
This is to help prevent players from joining the server just to cause chaos. Every player must be affiliated with a nation so that every action can be met with its own consequences. Having players that are nomads would make it impossible for the player to be punished by well-established nations for attacking them.
Because a nomad does not have a nation that they govern, they effectively cannot declare war, build on any land in the overworld, or compete in certain events like the End Rift. They'll be isolated from the community and will not represent the vision we have for the community.
There are other ways to be a "nomad", but having no citizenship is not allowed.
After making your decision known, you now must travel to the location of your country.
Depending on the country's location, you might want to skip a good portion of the travel there. You can use a one-time teleport kit that allows you to teleport to any continent on the server (except Antarctica).
WARNING: The One-Time Teleport Kit will clear your inventory (this is to help prevent possible abuse). Be sure that you have no valuables in your inventory when using the kit.
To access the kit, type:
Place the crafting table down and place the Large Fern in the center of the crafting grid and craft the recipe outcome.
Eat the golden apple. A series of potions should appear in your inventory shortly afterward. Each potion represents one location you can teleport to.
You can only drink one potion, so it's wise to drink the potion that will take you closest to your destination.
The server has a Dynmap. The tool is very helpful and will display your current location relative to the world (as well as everyone else's locations).
You can access Dynmap by executing the following command or clicking the link below:

Vigor is representative of your 'life force'.
You can use /vigor
to check how much vigor you have left. If you run out of vigor after you die, you can be temporarily banned until the next day (24 hours). You can use /exchange vigor 1
to obtain 1 vigor in physical form.
Log in every day to obtain your daily vigor, and do /vote
every day to get more vigor!
Full information about Vigor can be found in these articles:
Once you've established your nation with essentials like a home and a farm, you'll want to invite more players to join your nation.
We encourage you to look outside of the KoE Discord for more members instead of relying on our advertisements alone (i.e. inviting friends, family, advertising our server, etc.)
You'll be rewarded vigor for every player that you successfully bring into the server (with proof of reference).
You can expand your nation by either passively claiming land (if you meet the criteria; up to 5 passive claims maximum) or by annexing other countries' lands through spoils of war.
Passive claims will cost vigor in order to claim and you'll need to meet the criteria to claim it.
Full details here:
But, be warned! Depending on the size of your nation, you'll have to pay an upkeep cost to keep your land.
Upkeep costs are paid using vigor but it isn't ideal to pay the price out of your own pocket as it limits the amount of times you can die or trade with other players because you're focused on paying the upkeep cost.
Having more citizens makes it more feasible to maintain your land as you can tax your citizens' vigor to help contribute to the upkeep costs.
You'll have two weeks after your nation's creation until the deadline for payment is due. You'll be notified as soon as your nation is registered how much your nation needs to pay in upkeep costs.
If you cannot pay the upkeep cost by the deadline due date, you'll have 48 hours to pay the cost, or else you'll lose your claim. During these 48 hours, players from foreign countries can loot the territory you couldn't afford, but not grief them.
If you have multiple claims, you can choose to give up territory in order to lower the upkeep cost to match what you can pay. You'll only lose the territory you cannot afford, but not the ones you could pay for.
